Anderson, James (1662-1728)

Anderson, James (1662-1728), antiquary and W.S., was born at Edinburgh, and in 1705 published a treatise vindicating the independence of Scotland; thenceforward to the close of his unhappy life, he was employed on his Selectus Diplornatum et Numismatum Scotice Thesaurus (1739).
