Brooks, Phillips (1835-1893)

Brooks, Phillips (1835-93), Protestant Episcopal bishop, was born at Boston, studied at Harvard, and after serving cures in Philadelphia and Boston, was consecrated Bishop of Massachusetts in 1891, A keen thinker and powerful preacher, he published several volumes. See his Life by Allen (1901).
