Lester was born on March 14, 1912 in Reinerton, Pennsylvania. Later in life, he was known as Les Brown.
Lester passed away on January 4, 2001 in Los Angeles, California. The cause of his death was lung cancer. He was laid to rest in the Westwood Memorial Park.
