Jacob Gershovitz (1898 - 1937)

Jacob was born on September 26, 1898 in Brooklyn, New York to Rosa Bruskin and Moishe Gershovitz. Later in life, he was known as George Gershwin.

In the 1930 U. S. Census, George was living at 33 Riverside Drive, N. Y. C., Apt. 17c. His occupation was listed as Composer (Music industry).

Jacob passed away on July 11, 1937 in Hollywood, California. The cause of his death was brain tumor. He was laid to rest in the Westchester Hills Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, Westchester County, New York.
