Fedele was born on May 9, 1918 in Newark, New Jersey. Later in life, he was known as Fred Gizzi.
Fedele passed away on August 19, 2011 in Naples, Florida at the age of 93. He was laid to rest in the St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery, Watchung, New Jersey.
